Winner is growing up in a poor rural community. Typical homes are made of mud with tile or thatched roofs. Corn bread, beans, rice and vegetables are staples of the local diet. Temperatures range from annual lows in the 40s during winter to highs up to 116 degrees in May. Monsoon season is from June to September. The community is located on hilly, forested terrain.

Your sponsorship commitment will help provide Sakshi Ambadas and her community with improved health through access to clean water and training in nutrition and hygiene. Tutoring, vocational training, and leadership coaching will help children excel in life, and adults will be able to earn additional income for their households thanks to innovative agriculture and livestock training. Deborah is growing up in a poor community in Uganda, East Africa. Families live in round mud house with either a tin roof. They survive on a stew made with chicken and rice or couscous. When available, vegetables such as onion, eggplant and carrots are added. The terrain is a beautiful African savannah with grasses and acacia and baobab thorn trees. Temperatures vary from hot to moderate.

The area receives tropical rainfall, with colder temperatures during the dry seasons.
